should be TOTALLY cool!
A lunar eclipse on Saturday evening will be visible in clear skies for nearly the entire continental United States.
The first of two total lunar eclipses for 2007 will be unique because it will be partially visible from every continent around the world. Observers on the East Coast of the U.S. will find the moon already in total eclipse when it rises Saturday night or on its way to total eclipse
Those on the West Coast will only see a partial eclipse.
A lunar eclipse occures when the full moon passes through the Earth's shadow. The type and length of the eclipse depend on the Moon's location in relation to its orbit.
Unlike solar eclipses, lunar eclipses are safe to view with the naked eye and do not require any equipment to see the effects of the astrological event. During the event, the moon will turn reddish in color.
