13. That's the point of some of the groups. A safe haven if you will.

The Kerry group doesn't get Kerry bashers, etc. etc.

The Women's Rights forum doesn't get misogynists.

The GLBT groups doesn't attract homophobes.

The whole purpose of the topic forums and groups is so that people who are affected or interested in that particular topic can discuss it with like minded individuals.

You won't find any meat eaters in the Vegan group, for example. Maybe lurking, but not outright posting.

That's my issue with the DU groups; what good is it surrounding yourself with people who think and post exactly like you and forcibly shutting out those that don't? Trolling is one thing, dissent in the community is entirely another animal. Unfortunately, some severely polarized DU groups can't seem to tell the difference between the two and end up creating an echo chamber, rather than an exchange of ideas.

Just my 2¢. Take it for what it's worth, everyone else does. ;-)
