and Virginia Rappe died of a burst appendix, not because she was raped with a beer bottle. He really shouldn't be on the list--this IS supposed to be "crimes" and not "scandals", right?-- the way he was destroyed for something he didn't do was criminal, but I don't think that's what they meant.

And what about Charles Whitman (the University of Texas sniper)? The assassinations of JFK, RFK and MLK? The Soviet theft of nuclear secrets from the US?
