Uh oh.... Lucy's in trouble
she spent $3,000 on furniture, when Ricky said she could only spend $500.

I love TV Land.

7. ah yes
the famous lesbian episode. The network wouldn't let her use the word "cunnilingus". She had to say "fluffy kissing".

8. That's the one
Mer'ka was so repressed in 1957. :eyes:

Notice they never explained why Fred jingled his keys when he was around Ricky?

10. I remember reading somewhere that the guy that played Fred was gay.
That would explain the keys.

12. William Frawley?
I suppose it's possible. All I know is he was a loner and an alcoholic.

He died 41 years ago today, btw.

13. He did that once
Can't remember the episode, though. I just remember it was at the end, and he was pretending to laugh to catch her off guard.

Imagine a guy spanking his wife in a modern sitcom. It'd be for a wholly different reason.

14. I think
there were a couple instances of it.

If my Dad had ever tried that with my Mom, I'd be fatherless.

16. You're right
I just remembered the other one: When she horned into his act with a little aerialist bit on the balcony behind him as he sang.

"Ladies and gentlemen... DON' YOU TOUCH THOSE WIRES! Ladies and gentlemen, my version of 'Babalu'!"

At which point he pounded it out on her butt.

17. Funny about that line
It's like "Beam me up, Scotty" — I don't think Ricky ever said "Loo-ceee, joo got some 'splainin' to do." If he did, it wasn't more'n once. But it sure stuck.
