26. Cubs win! Cubs win!!
We still yell that around the house sometimes for no reason (we live in Philly, for God's sake).

One of the all-time best skits.

Farrell's complete puzzled GWB was pretty damned good as well.

He was genius and comedy incarnate. I am always so sad when I see a clips of him, because I know we lost him too soon.

I can't find the video, but Phil Hartman was playing Sinatra and Sting was playing Billy Idol. I found some sound for it, though:

69. 3 Mins. of The Sinatra Group
http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/#mea=2868

I always thought that the main difference between Hartman and Piscopo was that Piscopo was afraid he might offend someone he was imitating, he always played it safe so he ended up not being anywhere near as funny as Hartman.

8. Belushi as the Samarai
The original cast was the best, the cast with Phil Hartman and company was second best. I can't even watch it anymore, since Will Ferrell and Tina Fey left, because nobody still on it is funny.

I never thought Chris Farley was funny, either.

...is like watching an 85 year old man on life support, you're thinking isn't it enough already. My jaw drops at how bad it's gotten. That said, there is one actor on the current cast I think is brilliant, Kristen Wiig. She is sort of like a female Phil Hartmann, able to do a variety of characters spot on funny.

Edited on Fri Mar-02-07 04:34 PM by SteppingRazor
TO BILL BRASKY!!!!!!!

"Bill Brasky is the father of every kid in this town!"

"His poop is considered currency in Argentina."

"I once saw him scissor-kick Angela Lansbury."

"Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can't find one. Finally Brasky takes me to a vacant lot and says, 'Here we are.' We sat there for a year and a half — until sure enough, someone constructs a bar around us. Well, the day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. Brasky yelled over the roar of the flames, 'Always leave things the way you found 'em!'"

"He once punched a hole in a cow just to see who was coming up the road."

"He hated Mexicans! And he was half-Mexican! ...And he hated irony!"

"The story of Johnny Appleseed is based on Brasky... except for the part about planting apple trees... and not raping men."

"He did all the makeup on the Planet of the Apes movies."

"He drives an ice cream truck covered in human skulls."

"He orchestrated the merger between UNICEF and Smith & Wesson."

"Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky went hunting? Brasky decides he's going to hunt down all four of the Banana Splits. He stalks and kills every one of them with a machete. They all begged for their lives...except Fleegle."

"We once had a bachelor party for Brasky. He ate the entire cake before we could tell him there was a stripper in it."

"Brasky's family crest is a picture of a barracuda eating Neil Armstrong."

"Brasky named the group Sha Na Na. They did not want to be called that."

"If you drop a phonograph needle on Brasky's nipple, it plays the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds."

"Did I ever tell you about the time he taught his son how to drive? He did it by entering him in the Indy 500. The kid wrecked and died. Brasky said it would've happened sometime."

"He breastfeeds John Madden!"

"He killed Wolfman Jack with a trident."

"Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky and I were in a production of The King and I? Anyway, on opening night, Brasky chloroforms the entire cast, and slowly eats them in front of the audience for two hours. The production got pretty good reviews."

"He sleeps eight hours a night! Well, he was pretty normal when it came to that."

TO BILL FUCKING BRASKY!!!!!

13. Belushi as Joliet Jake. Murphy as Gumby, dammit. Best host--Don Rickles.
He and Joe Piscopo were improv machines. Every time they did a sketch together, they'd get about three lines into the script and start improvising. The rest of the cast would be doubled over with laughter, Piscopo would be trying desperately not to fall behind, or worse, to break out laughing.

16. Chris Farley as Matt Foley
Matt Foley: Alright, how's everybody? Good! Good! Good! Now, as your father probably told you, my name is Matt Foley, and I am a Motivational Speaker! Now, let's get started by me giving you a little bit of a scenario of what my life is all about! First off, I am 35 years old.. I am divorced.. and I live in a van down by the river! Now, you kids are probably saying to yourself, "Now, I'm gonna go out, and I'm gonna get the world by the tail, and wrap it around and put it in my pocket!!" Well, I'm here to tell you that you're probably gonna find out, as you go out there, that you're not gonna amount to Jack Squat!!" You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river! Now, young man, what do you want to do with your life?

Brian: I.. actually, Matt.. I kinda wanna be a writer..

Matt Foley: We-e-e-elll.. la-de-freakin'-da! We've got ourselves a writer here! Hey, Dad, I can't see real good....is that Bill Shakespeare over there?

Dad: Well, actually, Matt.. Ellen and I have encouraged Brian in his writing.

Matt Foley: Dad, I wish you could just shut your big yapper! < stumbles back across the room > Now, I wonder.. Brian, from what I've heard, you're using your paper, not for writing, but for rolling doobies!! You're gonna be doing a lot of doobie-rolling when you're living in a van down by the river! Young lady, what do you want to do with your life?!

Stacy: I want to live in a van down by the river.

59. Tim Kazurinsky
He did those bits during Weekend Update that were hilarious.

As the wise Indian Guru type;

"Why is such a fuss made about a cat up in a tree? It will come down by itself. Cats are natural born climbers. Have you ever seen a cat skeleton in a tree?"

92. how abour 'mr. mike meets unle remus'...?
http://snltranscripts.jt.org/76/76rmrmike.phtml

...Uncle Remus: I'se mighty hpapy to make yo' acquaintance, Mr. Mike. Y'all come in an' make yo'self to home.

Mr. Mike: Here? Not likely. < sits down > Listen, I just dropped by to tell you one of my Least-Loved Bedtime Tales. It's about your old buddy, Brer Rabbit.

Uncle Remus: Brer Rabbit? Why, ah loves dat floppy-eared rascal, Mr. Mike! An' if ah knows Brer Rabbit, he's a-cookin' up some devilment, ain't he?

Mr. Mike: He sure is, Uncle Remus. He's off to trick somebody out of their chickens or something - God knows what - going down the road, hppity-hoppity, hippity-hoppity..

Uncle Remus: An', an' den he sees dis here Tarbaby, right, Mr. Mike? An' Brer Rabbit, dat ole scalywag.. he done up an' wallop him one an' gits hisself all stuck in de tar, an' den..

Mr. Mike: Excuse me. Excuse me, Uncle Remus. There is no Tarbaby. In my story, the Tarbaby was used to repair a pothole. No, you see, Brer Rabbit is going down the road, hippity-hoppity, hippity-hoppity, when he's caught by Brer Fox and Brer Bear.

Uncle Remus: Oh, ah knows, Mr. Mike. An' den they threaten to skin him alive but dat ole crafty rabbit, he say: "Skin me alive; do anything you want, but don't throw me in de briar patch!" So dey throws him in de briar patch an' he gits away! < laughs >

Mr. Mike: No, not quite, Uncle Remus. In my story, they respect his wishes and skin him alive. I mean, it's all very amusing to talk about being skinned alive in some children's book, but can you imagine it actually going down? Toward the end, when they were cutting the ears away from the side of the skull, he was screaming: "Throw me in the briar patchl throw me in the molten glass furnace; anything but this!"

Uncle Remus: Oh, dat's just terrible, Mr. Mike. An' den what happen?

Mr. Mike: He died and they ate him.

Uncle Remus: Dey ate Brer Rabbit?!! Oh, Lawdy!

Mr. Mike: Yeah, and sold his feet for lucky charms. The end....(more at the link)

79. Gilda Radner and Jane Curtin
When Jane would do the news and Gila as either Emily Litella or Rosanne Rosanna Danna would drive her nuts.

I like the one when RRD said something about Jane's boobs and she freaked out and ripped her blouse open and screamed "CHECK EM OUT FOR YOUR SELF ROSANNE!".
