There's been enough burning of bridges in the Lounge lately; maybe it's time to build some new ones.


Here's an idea: Compliment one or more DUers WHO WOULD NEVER EXPECT IT FROM YOU!


Come on, reach out beyond your comfortable circle of friends and compliment those whose presence here you appreciate, even though you've never (or rarely) said so.


Suggestion: Put the person's name in the title, for the very reason that they won't expect your compliment and might not see their name if it is in just the post.



I'll start:


Chan: Chan and I have never posted directly to each other that I can recall, but I always appreciate the logic and insight in Chan's posts.


Whoa Nelly: WN knows that I like her, but she doesn't know how much! We don't communicate very often, but she is one of those DUers whose posts, whenever I run across them, will make me stop to read them. I especially appreciate WN's wisdom as applied to everyday life.

4. I'd like to compliment every DUer, including those that I've fought with

tooth and nail, called names, accused, cursed, etc, etc, etc.

Those are scraps. The big fight is something we're on the same side on, and for that I compliment, thank and cherish them.

Siblings fight. I can't tell you how many times that, when younger, I told my real life brother I hated him. How we fought. Of course, there was this one time, that I'm sure I hated him the morning we left for the bus stop. When the neighborhood bully actually, finally hit my brother and sent him to the ground...well, that's when a 10 year old bully had a 7 year old wolverine beating him like...well, like he had just suckerpunched my brother.

Family can fight, but don't fuck with family. I'd defend my biggest enemy here against a Freeper attack any day.
