Who else saw Jerry Lee Lewis on public television last night?
That was great television and great music. He is phenomenal! I loved the way he and Norah Jones did "Your Cheatin' Heart," which has gotta be the all time best country/western song.

Who was the guy who did a wonderful "Good Golly Miss Molly?" He was terrific! I bet LIttle Richard was impressed.

Only Kris Kristofferson disappointed. He didn't seem up to it.

Jerry Lee has really aged at 71. He looked like he could barely walk to the piano, but his keyboard skills are still great.

I got up and danced so much during that show I was exhausted by the time it was over. Lots of fun....

1. In a few years his first wife will be old enough to drink
Quite a remarkable musician, that Jerry Lee, but when thinking of him I can't seem to get past that one point.

3. Yeah, that and his crazy antics with pianos
made me think he was just a crazy guy. But damn if he doesn't play a mean rock piano. When I think that he's only 4 years older than me, I really have to laugh. When I was growing up he seemed older...

2. We saw it today and it was great, He can still play a fantastic
piano. I laughed at the piano bench antics at the end. It was so good I went to YouTube and listened to some of his oldies again. It inspired me to check out other 1950's and 1960's performers and had a great time reliving that era. It is amazing what you can find on YouTube. It was a good music day!

4. The Killer...
..is his nickname, which he bestowed on himelf. Gives you an idea of his
self-image. His new album has him sitting on a porch with a shotgun.

And the guy has amazing chops --- sometimes it seems like he's just banging with his feet and elbows but listen to his
version of "Drinkin' Wine Spo-dee-o-dee" sometime.
