Does anyone have any experience with a "green" roof?
My husband suggested it as something that we should do out of general concern for the environment and added naturual insulation.
To our knowledge, no one in our town has one, but perhaps we could set a trend.

2. My dear Nikia..........
Nope, no experience for me here.......

Is that the type of roof that has grass growing on it?

Or solar panels installed?

How do you characterize a green roof?

3. We were thinking of the kind with grass (or other plants)
Growing on it, although we also have discussed solar panels.

4. I've seen a few earthen homes around here.
I would think it'd make sense to look into from even an energy-efficiency standpoint.

5. I will bookmark this thread...
My brother in law is a hippie electrician.. Maybe I should say that he is an electrician that is a hippie. I will pick his brain about the idea tonight at dinner. He is into building sod houses and environmentally friendly construction. I have never heard of someone going this route with their house.. Interesting.
