I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to remove from the "Latest Discussion Threads" new posts from the lounge...

Since it's very difficult to monitor ALL boards we often miss great discussions on MEDIA, JUSTICE or all the the other "low volume" But the lounge (which I love and adore!!!) produces so many threads in so little time that it overshadows the "serious threads" on the main page....

Well, that's a suggestion... don't know what you think of it....

1. I've made that suggestions myself several times, as have others.

I think Skinner's view is that the latest discussion threads should reflect the overall activity on the board and allow those coming to the forum to get a sense of everything going on, on the boards.

Perhaps he's right, but, I'd still like to try out leaving the lounge threads off. As, I'm sure you observe, sometimes all the beloved silliness of the lounge, including all the copycat meaningless, but harmless threads, clog up the Latest Discussion Threads. It's hard to have the time to go through 8 pages or more, just to make sure you see the newsworthy topics that we may have specifically come for.

3. I'd like it if starting a new thread in the lounge gave one an option

of whether or not to display it on the "Latest" page.
