The Winner, so far...
1) Are they paying Chris Elliot royalties? Like, say, about 99%

2) Is the laugh track infuriating anyone else?

8. I love that band!
Or were they named after a Chris Elliot skit? I am not familiar with his show.

9. Somebody got the reference!
:toast:

The band is named after one episode of "Get a Life," where Chris Elliott applies to be a male model through "The Handsome Boy Modeling School."

On the band's CD, there's a couple of tracks featuring Elliott's voice from that episode.

One of the Wu-Tang Clan guys talks about "Wu Delivery," but pronounces it "Wu Dewivewy."

6. Made the mistake of watching both episodes
They cancel something hilarious like Andy Richter Controls the Universe and years later air this dreck? If this hadn't had Seth MacFarlane's name attached to it, I don't think there's any way they would've even considered airing it.

Stick to cartoons, Seth. Live action and you are a marriage made it hell.

21. If you're talkin' 'bout 'Andy Richter Controls the Universe'
I finally wound up buying it on eBay. It's set up with menus, but it's obviously recorded from TV (the end credits often end abruptly, for example) and doesn't have anything other than the episodes themselves. I didn't want to have to go that route, but I got tired of waiting for Fox to get off its ass and release it. It was worth buying for the episode "Holy Sheep" alone. :D

15. Yep.
I thought a lot of the gags were funny as fuck. I really, really didn't need that LOUD canned laughter telling me when they dropped.

16. The laugh track was horrible....
but, the show wasn't very funny anyway.

I was fairly appalled at the "Drop in and Visit a Hooker" scene, while watching with my 12 year old. (It was on at 8:30 Central Time.) It made the character even more pathetic.

Family Guy has also just never struck me as funny. (Even though my sense of humor is edgy enough to embrace Sarah Silverman.)

17. The sitcoms on Fox that have laugh tracks are all like that.
I watched an episode...ONE episode...of that Brad Garrett crapfest "Til' Death" and to hear the canned laughter, you'd think it was the funniest goddamned thing you ever saw. Which it most certainly is NOT. A colonoscopy is funnier than that sad excuse for a show.

19. Next weeks episode
"Spewy and Me"

It's possible they can fix the problems with the show. "The Office" had way too much Steve Carell in the first episodes and they fixed that.

"The War at Home" went from one of the worst shows outside of the Fox Noise Channel (they ripped off "Titus" and "Grounded for Life") and yet managed to climb up to be an average sitcom.

I haven't watched the second episode of "The Winner" yet. You are so right about the laugh track, it hits you like a brick to the face.

At least one of the Corddry boys (Nathan) got on a decent show, "Studio 60".
