Conservopedia: Declaration on the Rights of Women
Edited on Sun Mar-04-07 11:14 PM by lwfern
The Declaration of the Rights of women was an atempt to give women rights during the French revelotion in 1791. The leader of this group, Olympe de Gouges, was ruthlessly beheaded.

Also, their 19th amendment entry is a gem: In an early example of judicial activism, this amendment was ratified in 1920, as advocates ("suffragettes") cited women's support of World War I to persuade President Woodrow Wilson to change his position from opposing this amendment to supporting it. Women could already vote in many areas of the country, but this amendment guaranteed the right, in violation of the principle of states' rights.

:)

1. I really wonder
if the right wingers would attempt to repeal women's right to vote if they had the opportunity.

I think the religious right probably would. I think a lot of the rest of the right wing might go along with it.

4. yes they would
and worse, right wing women would be leading the charge. The are really just a bunch of closet masochistic bondage babes with no outlet to express their submissive tendencies, so public displays of political submission are the way they get off.

5. I heard a cashier once say
"this country started going to hell the day we taught women to read."

A female cashier said that.

It's unbelievable sometimes.

3. "Judicial activism"???? WTF????
The federal and state legislative bodies all passed the amendment. The judges had no say on it at all. In fact, now they are *required* to defend it because it is part of the Constitution!

These people are getting just downright scary.

On the plus side, once they begin quoting conservapedia.com as reference, I know we've won!

7. OK, that's just insane, but this entry is funny!
God

Jump to: navigation, search

God is the creator of the universe in monotheistic religions such Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.<1> In the Christian and Jewish faiths, His creation of man is described in the Book of Genesis.

It's claimed that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism worship the same God in different ways. This claim is regarded by some as a way to convert Jews and Christians to Islam, since it supports the idea that Abrahamic religion has "grown" from Judaism to Christianity to Islam.<1> However, many are skeptical of this idea.<2>

Common powers attributed to God include omnipotence(the ability to do anything), omniscience(the ability to know anything) although even that level of detail is not common throughout all monotheists. Many believers in God also believe that he punishes the wicked and rewards the righteous in some afterlife and variants of this theme are found in all the Abrahamic faiths.

9. That "common powers attributed..." paragraph reads like a D&D description:
"If equipped with a +2 Vorpal Sword, God can only be defeated with an Elvish Shield and/or a Emerald Talisman of Righteousness..."

Sad as it is, I think those people believe they are creating a legitimate encyclopedia - I can't wait till I see conservapedia cited in term papers...

12. The spellings and the moral
I can't help thinking the French revelotion was some terrible backlash against a lack of skin care products.

But also as a short morality play, it's quite nicely done. Look what happens to people who fight for women's rights!
