Percent Penetration

def: a measurement of filtration effectiveness. It is the amount of filtrate which gets past your filter. An example: to test you run 100 grams of sand into a vent line and then through a filter, after the filter you collect 2 grams of sand. (For this example we will assume there are NO other losses in the system.) You thus have a 2 percent penetration.

A pretty dry definition for what may be one of the most salacious-sounding terms in aerosol science! Plus it is one I know the Lounge can do great things with.

as well as the lubrication factor. There's also a direct correlation between the rigidity ratio and the measurements of the instrument used to determine percentage of penetration. The results so far have been very satisfying. But more experimentation is needed in order to demonstrate the most effective method to achieve optimal results.
