Good news on my diverticulitis!
This may sound strange but the good news is twofold: one, I don't have to take that nasty, vile Flagyl (I am on Augmentum) and secondly, though I will have the surgery as soon as my infection is cured it is done lapiroscopically with only one or maybe two nights at the hospital, no temporary colostomy bag, everything just taken care of with the surgery. I'll be all put back together! And, I won't experience these infections again!

My thanks to all of you DUers who shared your stories about diverticulitis and offered support. Some of you had really awful times with this condition. I realize now how lucky I am.

Bless you all! :grouphug:

3. Thank you for all of your information on my last post.
I was glad I got on the phone early this am to contact my dr's office. They got back to me right away and I had an appointment early today, so I got started on my meds early.

I was fearful because of my mother's experience 30 years ago. It is all different now, thank god. In fact, I'd be crazy not to have the surgery since it will be so beneficial. I truly cannot see myself going any further than I have to with this condition. Since it is so localized, it can be snipped away in a resection and my problem is then gone.
