"female" to the profile. However, it's only since I've been on discussion boards that I tell people I'm female. Having a non-gender screenname helped a lot in the early years, though, when being online was a lot different. It didn't help, though, when spam became a phenomenon--I've gotten more Viagra and other penis enhancements than I've gotten breat enhancement spam.

I'm female. Davsand is a combo of my maiden (and now middle) name of Davis and my married name which begins with Sand. More than one DUer has commented that they thought I was a man named Dave until I started signing my posts.

Yep, I'm a woman and I guess that has surprised a few folks over the years.

and some other posters were surprised to learn that I was male! In a thread several years ago, I reacted to a poster who I felt insulted by as if the poster was male. I found out later when I looked at the profile that the poster was female! (This led to my only DU flamewar against about half of DU!)
