1. That was a lot of work.
It would make me dizzy walking over that, it's so real looking.

2. I'd like to know where it was, probably someplace where it doesn't rain for months
I got a touch of acrophobia looking at it, too.

6. The artist does much of his work in London and Amsterdam...
...two cities in which it rains a hell of a lot. So he must be pretty quick.

3. My dear marzipanni!
That is very cool indeed!

I've seen things like that before, and I'm always astonished at them....

It would be hard to walk over that, the illusion is that good...

4. Hi CaliforniaPeggy! Here is a listing of some street painting festivals
I guess it's one advantage to the predictably dry summers of California, one's art wouldn't get rained on. I've been to the one in San Rafael, but, as in every event around there, you feel like a pinball bumping through the crowd. ;)

5. Cool website!
Thanks for the links!

Yeah, it's pretty safe in California during our summers!

Very rarely do we get any rain here........

11. It must be a real trippy sensation as you walk AWAY from the ideal perspective spot
and the drawing gets all distorted.

14. Here are others by that artist:

China_cat is right, upthread: they seem to be done to converge on the camera location to make the optical effects work. Nevertheless, pretty cool trompe l'oiel

15. Thanks for the links, Drum
I had thought that the illusion would look strange approached from the other side, but it is very effective from the camera vantage point. It was interesting to see the earth "Make Poverty History" art from two angles so the method can be appreciated.
