I'll be there for two days. My nephew moved to Hollywood last year - another struggling actor! - and my sister is coming out from Vermont to visit him so I'm going to run down and see them both. What's fun - and relatively inexpensive - to do down there?

1. Pinks Hotdogs on La Brea and Melrose! |

It is a Hollyweird institution.
The La Brea tar pits if you are into natural history type stuff.
Mann's Chinese Theatre - the grounds are free.
The Santa Monica pier is a lot of fun, good people watching.

Wouldn't have thought of it but it's right up my alley. (I love the scene in ice age where the baby dinasaurs are wallowing in tar and the father says, "C'mon kids, you can play extinction later." )

If you do go there, and you have asthma or another respiratory condition requiring the occasional use of an inhaler, make sure you bring your inhaler. For real.
