The song is undisputedly one of the absolute best of the 1980s. But, how does the video relate to the music?

I want to hear your interpretation. What does it mean?

3. if you watch closely
there is a juxtaposition of caged animals vs free animals

and the singer is always caged.

If you've seen the video, you'll know what I mean. They even skin graft poor Hollis' mouth up!
