Did you know that thanks to desktop publishing, some children's textbooks, including first grade readers are published in a sans serif font?

I was appalled when I found out. Went to the School Board meetings and everything.

Trouble was, no one had any idea what I was talking about and the price was right, so voila.

And, they wonder why Johnny can't read.

I actually printed a couple of the take home booklets in Times Roman for a friend of mine who teaches first grade and she was astounded at how the 'slow' readers caught on.

It's a shame, really, because it is such a little thing.
