4. Seriously - same here, I loved them before I loved Led Zeppelin
And although technically I adore Led Zeppelin more today than ELO, there is a special place in my heart for the music of this band. My very first album I ever bought with my very own money was ELO's "Out of the Blue"

I'm listening to "New World Record" right now - 'So Fine' is on

Ironcially my best friend's husband (she was my college roomie) is also a big ELO fan. He has some pretty hard to find ELO bootlegs

5. I too grew up on them, along with the "standards"
such as Beatles, Zeppelin, Stones, Tull, etc. I was trying to work in a Rockaria or Mission in that joke, but no dice.

6. "Out of the Blue" has got to be one of the best double albums ever.
Now that I'm old I even like "The Whale", or whatever that instrumental track is that I used to skip the needle over in my callow youth.

8. I love the song "Do Ya"
They have many great pop songs. Jeff Lynne knew how to write a hook.

9. They did the best version of Roll Over Beethoven I have ever heard!
The violin really adds a lot to that song.

12. It's the real stuff
I've been on the ELO since I first encountered it in the 70's.
I was fortunate to see them live once in St. Louis.
It's the only act I've ever seen that had a rocking Cello solo.

13. I wish I could remember if I saw them in concert
back then. Seriously, I do not know, but I think I did. :)

I also wonder if I saw Alice Cooper...
