1. hmmm......

Something about myself:
-At this point in my life, I can honestly say that I am the happiest I have ever been.
-Things that most often turn my head have two wheels- motorcycles and bicycles.
-I can recite the 9 most used letters in the English language in order of their use.
-I am a sucker for those "25 cent" toy machines in front of stores and in grocery stores by the exit.
-I love every album Muddy Waters ever put out except for "Electric Mud."
-My mother does not have a middle name but I do.

I joined DU because, since our second date, my girlfriend has been keeping me up to date on all sorts of DU related news and whatnot. I thought I should move make the move from second hand to first hand.

Because I worked with a staff composed of retirement aged and + women, I had to change the lighted sign out front... and when it came time to order the letters for posting our all so important announcements.. guess who knew which to order more of???

8. I joined DU after trying several other liberal sites.

I had been lurking on DU for some time, and I like the way things are set up. I also noticed a few voices I found myself agreeing with often. So far, I am happy I joined.

Something unique about me? Everything I can think of about me is pretty mundane. I am gay, in a long term relationship with a beautiful amazing woman, love to cook, love good music and movies, and desire to somehow leave my mark on the world. :shrug:

Seriously, i started coming here after the "Top 10" was linked from TotalFark a couple of years ago. I lost access to my original username (forgot both the name and the pw... duh) that i started then, but i didn't post in any of the forums then anyway...

This go-round, i decided to at least try to get to know some of the fine folks here, and i have not been dissappointed...

3 odd facts:
* I've set foot in every state in the union, except 4: Alaska, Hawaii, North Dakota, and Vermont
* I perpetually wear a rubber bracelet of some sort; this month it's from the ACLU
* I cannot force myself to swallow liquid medicines... pills are alright, though.

It could be unique that I love animals more than people. Animals aren't angels but they can't really reason either, people can reason well enough to know when they're hurting each other and the planet and it scares the crap out of me that people like that are multiplying.
I think I signed up for like reassurance or something.. I listen to the news all day and coming here reading y'all's posts makes me think we haven't all gone to Hell.

but I don't post much. I think too much before I write, and then, whadya know, threads dead.

Lately, before I go to sleep, I've noticed I always think about guns going off. All different kinds of machine guns and cannons. Bullets and shells flying, then hitting stuff. Mostly just the sound and fury of them going off. It relaxes me and then I go to sleep.

It's true, and I seriously don't get it.

There is nothing unique about me, though some may find it interesting that I recently got a huge colorful tattoo on my left forearm (a vine with 3 roses) and I went backpacking through Thailand and India for 3 months the year I turned 30.
I joined DU because after coming here and reading everything every day for a year I wanted to reply to a post. Can't reply if you're not a member and all that.

I joined DU because my boss at the time, who was (and still is) a clown - a real one, with the mult-patterned outfits and big shoes, sent me the Top Ten list and told me to stop all work until I'd read it. I've been on here ever since.
