Thank you for the compliment. I had written some stuff in college for a course (Archaeology of Death)...all of it was fiction, but I was fond of all three stories...hadn't thought about the stuff in years, but I need to get those stories on my computer, before they're lost to the winds or whatever.

As long as you remain on the same level as the obstacles, they will remain obstacles. But if you elevate yourself, they can become stepping stones on a higher path.

The challenge, then, is to pull yourself up. It's not easy, because the only person who can do it is you, no matter how nice your friends are. It requires determination to recognize the positive aspects of your situation without denying the negative ones.

With regard to aging, all I can say is this: Anyone who is repelled by your appearance is an asshole. Sorry, but that's the plain truth. I've seen your picture, and you are clearly very attractive. I hope you recognize this; because it's more important for you to appreciate your beauty...inner and outer...than it is for anyone else to.

As far as a job is concerned, I'd suggest speaking with a counselor at the institution where you are taking classes. They can help you make some practical career decisions, and may be able to advise you on your current living situation.
