Again, I'm not saying that I only want to donate to lesbian couples - but there is a need among lesbians that is not as great among straight and bisexual women.

Also - I want to eliminate any chance of my donation going to a childless Fundie couple. Chances are a lesbian couple would not be fundie.

I've been wanting to do this for quite a while. I'm getting a vasectomy soon, and want to do this, obviously, pre-surgery.

The thing is I don't want to donate anonymously to a sperm bank - I'm kind of weird that way. I would like to meet the couple and do it for no money. The only request I would make is that if a child is born, I would like a card sent with a pic every couple years or so.

I want to do this for part alturistic reasons, but also partly for selfish reasons. There is a primal part of me that would be satisfied by going through with this. Don't ask me to explain it - I really can't.

So does this win for the most bizarre question ever posted on DU?

I have to say that the "send a pic every 2 years" thing would probably be a big red flag to any couple.

Any couple looking to conceive wouldn't want to invite a stranger into their lives longterm that could turn into a legal battle. Not only that, the couple would want to think of the child as theirs exclusively without a constant reminder that a stranger was involved in the first place.

It would be a different story if you were a friend of the couple to begin with. Otherwise, I can't see why a couple wouldn't prefer to get sperm from an anonymous donor.
