American Idol contestants this season are pretty pathetic

The worse I've seen. Okay, I admit I watch the show. But last night the "boys" were pretty dismal. I have to admit there are a couple of "girls" like Lakisha Jones, Melinda Doolittle and Sabrina Sloan who are pretty good, but overall this seasons contestants are BAD.

by the way, if Sanjaya Malakar survives another week something is really wrong.

What I was appalled by last night was the really sorry choice of songs. Half of them I had never heard and the other half were ones if they came on my car radio I would change the station.

our teenagers had so much fun jamming the phone lines, which were wide open because the show airs on a tape-delayed basis out here. Who says Florida's the only warm-weather state that knows how to stuff a ballot box??

20. Three women were an absolute joy to watch tonight

Melinda Doolittle, LaKisha Jones, and Gina Glocksen. I really think Melinda and LaKisha are two of the most talented Idol has ever had - I'd only put Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Bo Bice, and Katharine McPhee up there. Melinda was better this week than last week IMO. I didn't hear any pitch problems this time. It was perfect! LaKisha maybe didn't do her absolute best, but she has more passion than Mandisa from last year, along with a timeless quality. I didn't think much of Gina before tonight, but she really stepped up on that Evanescence song - I found it equal to Amy Lee and some will find her voice MORE to their liking. Risky song that paid off! Stephanie Edwards is a little Beyonce-lite, but she has talent. Sabrina Sloan needs more control of her voice, but also has potential. Jordin Sparks kind of underwhelmed on the faster-tempo tonight, but she's had good ballad performances. Haley was just ok singing-wise on "If My Heart Had Wings," but her take was unique - a good thing. After tonight she might be in danger, though. Antonella was worse than last week and hasn't had a stand out performance yet.

The guys have been WEAK. I like Sundance, but he sung "Jeremy" like some of the oversinging hard rockers of today. Blake Lewis's songs haven't been my favorite style of music the last two weeks, but I'm entertained, and that says something. Brandon Rogers gave a solid performance - much better song this week for him. Chris Sligh has been inconsistent like Sundance. The other guys aren't worth mentioning.

Basically, this show is very one sided this year. Three very talented women and others with potential, and only one guy that has stood out and has been consistent - Blake. The first week, Blake was better than the Keane singer.

LaKisha Jones she shouldn't have sung the Whitney Houston song because it's already been sung.

Melinda has a great voice but I don't like the songs she picks.
