I saw the most bizarre combination of bumper stickers yesterday
Edited on Thu Mar-08-07 11:25 AM by Coventina
I was driving down the freeway behind a white mini-van.

It had one of those "family" stickers with the stick figures, do you know the ones I'm talking about? It was a big one, looked to be 5 kids or so.

Then, there was what I'm assuming is a "pro-life" sticker. It said "Life is precious" with a picture of a fetus.

Then, there was an "Impeach Bush" sticker.

Then a "Reverend Horton Heat" sticker.

What the heck?!!?!?

Can anyone explain that to me?

3. But "Impeach Bush" (and it was the most easily read sticker on there)
is a pretty strong statement for someone on the fence.

4. Someone who was raised a Catholic maybe.

I know a few people who are Catholic, hold that life begins at conception but realize they cannot legislate their beliefs on others. They can still have the sticker. I had a yellow, support the troops magnet until they became well you know...

This is what happens when either side tries to pigeonhole.

I am 36, drive a Yukon XL, listen to (and secretly love) Eminem and John Denver, my husband has a slew of anti-Bush stickers on his RAM truck, I scrapbook and watch soccer games, like a bit of sci fi, and lived in a trailer for 7 years.

I guess that's the best I can explain it. :hi:

Oh, and I had all of Johnny Cash's albums before it was considered "cool" to do so.

6. Good explanation, thanks.
And you're right, we shouldn't try to pigeonhole people.

I just had a hard time picturing driving kids around to tunes like:

"Wiggle Stick"
"Love Whip"
"Bales of Cocaine"
"Big Red Rocket of Love"
etc.....

10. Well, I think we're all guilty of that.

As expressed hilariously in that episode of "Arrested Development" when Michael sings "Afternoon Delight" kareoke with his niece, and never noticed before that the song was, er, not something you want to sing with your niece.

on edit: I am just a mess with typing today......

5. Life is precious.....
there are many in our party who are '"pro-life", but not anti-choice. Abortion should be rare, but legal and available to anyone. Thats how I feel about it.

OR

maybe they did vote for W, and have realized their mistake. I certainly wouldn't call him a "good christian" or "pro-life".

9. I once got behind an oversized Hummer with a yellow ribbon magnet and a Kerry/Edwards sticker
My head almost exploded trying to comprehend that one
