Teacher Had Sex With 13 Year Old Student In Her Minivan - Arrested

A Brooklyn speech teacher was arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old student in the backseat of her minivan, police said.

Marcia Amsterdam, 30, was hauled out of Junior High School 166 in East New York yesterday by schools investigators on charges that she had sex with the boy Dec. 1.

The unidentified student reported the abuse after returning from school vacation last month, and Amsterdam was reassigned while the allegations were investigated, officials said.

Amsterdam - who calls herself "Sexi Bodi Gal" on her MySpace.com page - has been a teacher at the school since November 2004. She began working as a substitute teacher for the city in 1999 and became a full-time speech teacher in September 2000.

She was charged with second-degree rape, .second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned last night and released on $5,000 bail. She faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.

Amsterdam was the second public school instructor in the past week to be charged with sleeping with a teenage boy.

Emily Streb, 23, a music teacher at Public School 12 in the Bronx, was reportedly indicted Tuesday. She has been accused of sleeping with a 16-year-old special education student last year.
