It's been a long day, the last thing you want to deal with is a bunch of monkeys typing about nipples, or calling people Freepers, breaking the rules like they're just up there for your health.

But you agreed to. So you saunter into your assigned forum and peruse, all the while looking mournfully at the thirty alerts sitting in your inbox. Mostly about the same thread.

You sigh. Another mod's already taken care of business. And all you wanted to do was lock a thread, maybe issue a warning, you know, some people's children... but there's nothing to take care of.

You've spent an hour, nearly, and have nothing to show for it. At least, nothing satisfying.

C'mon. Lock this thread. It'll make you feel better.

It's not like this thread is contributing to the intellectual discussion overall on DU. It's actually making you dumber the longer you read it. In fact, an argument could be made that this thread, in and of itself, will eventually lead to a Republican-controlled Congress. I'm not sure how that argument would read, but I'm sure Pitt or someone could write it out.

So lock it.
