Here's the tiny little thing that bugs me about Katie Couric.

She does NOT pronounce the G in ING ending words.
'spy-een'
'mail-eens'
'misuse-een'

OK, she's from Virginia (I think).
I'm also southerner, and I generally drop my Gs too.
But I say 'spyin', or 'goin', not 'go-een'.

It's like she gets ALMOST there to correct pronunciation and then quits at the last minute.

She's supposed to be a professional broadcaster, ferchristsake.
Can't she get a diction coach or sometheen?

2. I agree, some people should just know better and there is no excuse for

such laziness. Bush does the same thing and it is like fingernails on a blackboard (plus he can't say "to," always says "ta" as in "Ahm goin ta stay tha course." RRRRRRRRRRR!
