So I had a conversation with one of my employees this morning...
She's really sweet and a total liberal---she protested the Vietnam War and had two friends killed there. She hates Bush's guts because she knows Iraq is a latter-day Vietnam. She's 56 years old and is great at customer service. The other two employees (one of which will be back from maternity leave in April) give her a hard time for no good reason, and I've taken her under my wing to teach her what she needs to know to do her job. She started in May of last year under trying circumstances, and she never really received adequate training. I applaud her for keeping things going in spite of the circumstances.

Her divorce from her total asshole of a husband (married ten years) was final yesterday afternoon at 4 PM. Know what she did to celebrate? She went out and bought her very first vibrator ever. A Rabbit, in fact. :) She felt comfortable enough to tell me that, and I told her it was great! :) She worked up the nerve to walk into a lingerie/toy store right after signing the papers, and she told me how liberating that was. Since for some unknown reason I am very familiar with the store in question :P, she has asked me if I wanted to go back at lunch one day next week. I told her it would be a fun lunch and I'd go with her. :) I'm glad she's branching out!

Pretty cool! :toast: :bounce: :D

And NO, this is NOT a sex thread. :)

6. I think that sounds great, you may be the answer to her prayers
I hate it when people gang up on people at work like that. As if work itself isn't enough of a drag. LOL. Your posts about this job read much more upbeat than the corporate work from home thing you were involved in before...even though it seems like you have some tough situations on your hands you sound more than capable of handling them, and it sounds like you enjoy the challenge. Glad to see you posting more again. :hi:

12. Good for her.
That's cool that you've been helping her.

I would find it a little odd to be telling my boss about my purchase. I sure wouldn't want to take her shopping to buy more.

But then I wouldn't want my boss shopping with me for anything, groceries, clothes or toys.

13. wish i worked for/with you
I'm looking for a job lately, but I'm fearful I'm going to get stuck working with some jerk again.
Nice to see humanity is still alive and kicking in the working world.
