Sweet merciful crap! The Jam shilling for Cadillac!
I just saw a Caddy ad, with "Start!" playing in the background.

See, I expect this from John Mellencamp and Bob Seger, but Paul Weller?!

Plus, who the hell remembers the Jam besides me?

1. Are you kidding? I love the song A TOWN CALLED MALICE
It's been a long time since I've heard it, though.

When I first saw that commercial, it took a while for it to register that this was a Jam tune being used to sell Caddies. Feh.

7. I guess what I find surprising is....
...that General Motors deems the relatively obscure (in the US) Jam as a recognisable association for the demographic to whom they're trying to sell Cadillacs.

14. I Heard Violent Femmes in an Allergy(?) Commercial
I think it was one of them.

A also heard the Buzzcocks in the AARP commercial.

I loved the Jam.

I was speaking to a friend about this, and we both agreed that it was pretty pathetic that we were so frustrated with our (sub)culture being treated like it never existed that we were happy to hear the Buzzcocks in a TV commercial.

15. I remember the Jam and I remember Style Council. Loved them both!
I haven't seen this commercial yet. I did just hear; however, the theme from "That Girl" playing on a commercial. :(

21. I like his solo stuf more then the Style Council stuff.
Style Council was far too derivitive of soul-pop from the 60s. That said, it rates pretty high on the nostalgia factor, when I hear it and I'm not in the mood for musical excellence.
