Is your computer ready for the early Daylight Savings Time?
Here is a page that does a quick check on your computer for it. You may need a patch before Sunday.

1. I was told that anything manufactured less than two years ago is good.
Mine is less than a year old.

6. I just spent about 45 minutes on it and still can't download it!
Edited on Sat Mar-10-07 12:21 AM by notmyprez
Error message says my version of some XP service pack is lower than what is necessary to apply this hotfix. At minimum I must have service pack 1 installed. So I download service pack 1. Get same error message. I restart computer in case that is what's needed; I get same error message. Tried it with both IE (which I never use) and Firefox. Same error message. Can't find anywhere to find out what to do next. It said something about some script thing being enabled/open, so I followed those instructions to do it but it still didn't let me do anything. Somewhere in there, I downloaded something and I have no idea what that might have been; apparently, it was not the DSL thing. This is really pissing me off. I hope I didn't do anything to mess up my computer. I was exhausted an hour ago and ready to go to bed, which I think I'll do now. If anyone knows what's messing up for me with this download or what I can do next, please let me know and I'll check for it tomorrow. (I have Windows XP.)

8. Go to Service Pack 2
After all the SP2 standard warnings (backup, etc...). Then try it. SP2 upgrades take a while though and may kill your system.

7. I don't understand what the big deal is...
Does it involve more than the "time", which is in the lower right on my screen?

TIA

:)

9. So simple a cave man can do it
It is really meaningless. You set your clocks ahead, and your computer too. In three weeks if it sets itself for the real DST, you set it back an hour.

Unless of course, you forget the coffee maker in the morning and you have no coffee when you wake up.

10. I have to worry if other computers are in synch.
Here where we don't do DST, we are amused by the
scramble.

11. My PC is ready for the Daylight Saving Time Adjustment, as is my PDA...
My VCR isn't, but I couldn't care any less...
