19. it is said that Philosophers
kick up dust and then complain that they cannot see. But my answer depends on definitions. What is justice? How does it differ from retribution or prevention of recidivism? What is the severity of the offense? For example, I run stop signs all the time on empty streets on my bike at night. Does justice demand that I pay a fine for each instance? Why? Who has been harmed? On the other hand what would 'mercy' be when applied to the BTK killer or Tookie or Mumia? That he not get a life sentence? Are they just told 'go, and sin no more'? Or is the fact that they are not tortured in retribution a degree of mercy?

Although I never do when a car is there. I would ride in front of a loaded weapon of mass destruction?

26. See, I'm riding my bike, expecting you to adhere to the rules of the road.
and you blow the stop sign because there is no car?

27. ha. Seeing another bike in this town
there are better odds on the powerball. You are far more likely to get hit by a meteorite than you are by a scofflaw bicyclist.

28. If I got hit by a scofflaw bicyclist,
it would be you?

It would hurt.

If only you hadn't blown that stop sign.

If only I had made car noises.

29. a whole lotta ifs there
if beagles could fly, they might break the sound barrier

if not for your blazing speed my evasive maneuvers would work

since most stop signs are 4 way, you must also have blown one, or

you are on some really busy through street where a) you are already taking your life in your hands, and b) requires me to slow and/or stop most of the time just for the accursed motorized traffic.

22. i think you raise an obvious question in regards to the
black and white of things and the various shades of gray that life comes...

still, i would rather err on the side of mercy even with the foul deeds you have just mentioned...

however, i might pose the question that it might me more merciful to put an end to it rahter than to let justice seek its course in appeals and life in misery...

i do not know...i just question...

thanks for your response

30. Mercy is way better than justice
Justice is getting what we deserve. If that is all we'll ever get then we're all screwn. Mercy is getting better than we deserve.
