1. Back slowly away from the tv set. Put down any sharp objects.
Now...

RUN LIKE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what I have to do when I don't get to the remote fast enough to turn him off. Uh. I can't stand him. Not funny. AT ALL.

2. I'm comparing his use of ethnic humor to Dave Chappelle, and I gotta tell you...
...I am more and more convinced Mencia, although he claims he's using a stage character to say what he says, is an untalented hack who is borderline racist in a lot of his material. Dave Chappelle uses ethnic humor in ways to mock (as in, he uses satire, which is something I've noticed Mencia is not so great at) people who actually believe in ethnic sterotypes.

I miss Chappelle all the more now :(

3. Plus Chappelle is actually black.
Mencia only pretends to be Mexican. His heritage is German and Honduran. And his name is Ned Holness.

It would be like me getting a tan and then pretending to be Paul Moony. The words are the same, but the meaning is entirely different.

4. Here's a quote from Mencia, and I think it shows a lot of ignorance on his part:
From the San Fran Chronicle:

"Offstage, Mencia doesn't apologize for anything. If anything, he seems excited that his newfound fame allows him to tell a larger audience to chill out.

"Here's the problem: People have completely and utterly forgotten one thing when it comes to communication -- intent," Mencia says during the interview, explaining why he thinks it's OK for a white or Latino guy to call a black guy "nigga," as long as the black guy is cool with it. "We focus so much on words today -- the actually literal bull -- grammar, that no one asks about intent."

Now, although he's 100% correct that context is by and large the most important factor in determining how your use of language--especially loaded words-- he is completely forgetting that just because you may not INTEND to use language that is racist, does not mean that you can claim ignorance on your part. When Dave Chapelle uses the word "nigger", in all his skits I've analyzed so far, he does it to destroy the power of the word instead of using it in ways that actual racists do. Mencia never does what Chapelle does, and in my opinion, is a very socially irresponsible comedian with regards to using loaded ethnic words like "nigger", "beaner" (yes, he actually said that), "wetback", etc.

Update: I just watched a skit called "Wetback Mountain" :puke:

7. I am not sullying their names,
I believe as you do, they are gods and Mencia is a hack. Some of his stuff I heard them doing back in the day but he just makes it more to the lowest common denominator and not thought provoking like they did.
