Whine, whine, whine
Edited on Sun Mar-11-07 10:14 AM by lizziegrace
my arms are killing me. The one that's fractured and the other with a screaming case of tendonitis from over-use. I can't even brush my hair easily.

Today, I have to get groceries, 10 gallons of fuel oil (which must be poured into the furnace fill pipe) and do laundry. While the latter seems easy, I cannot pull the clothes up and out of the washer. The fuel oil is a nightmare. The company will only deliver 150 gallons/minimum and I cannot afford it. It's as expensive as gasoline right now. I bought two 5 gallon gas cans and fill them at a fuel depot in town. Then I hoist them up to pour into the pipe.

I'm tired. Can't sleep and cranky.

Anyone got a hug? Better yet, anyone wanna come over to help. (I NEVER ask for help unless it's desperate. :( )

2. I live too far away
to come over and help. Can any of those tasks wait? I find that sometimes a day's rest, together with some aspirin, really helps to get over the worst of the pain.

the indicator on the fuel tank is reading below 1/8. It's old and I can't risk running it dry. Laundry? I have to work tomorrow and my good clothes are dirty.

I'll just suck it up and get it done, then crash with ice bags and ibuprofin and tylenol. :(

I'm glad someone else is responsible for the horses and calves in the barn. ;)

Thank you.

6. Yep
life has been such that I usually only have myself to rely on. I have a friend who would help, but she was injured in a car accident over a year ago and cannot lift more than 5 pounds.

:(

5. I would love to help...
But I live 1500 miles away. I hug is the best I can do.

You could try calling the "meals on wheels" people and see if they could send someone to help. Or call a local Church. You don't have to be religious for them to help.

11. I'm heading out
to get this done. I called someone to see if they can help with the fuel oil when I get it home.

I tried cutting up vegetables last night. If I were a chef, I'd be out of a job. ;)

Thank you all so much.

15. Here you go sweet lizzie.

It's my bestest hug. I save it for special occasions, and this is certainly one of them:

Another thought: You might want to try calling your local social services agency. If they can't help you they will probably know of someone who can. That is basically their job - to put citizens in need, whether permanently so or temporarily - in touch with the resources to help them. And hell, you pay for it already with your taxes so you might as well take advantage of them.

:meditates: ( ( ( ((( ...all good things to lizziegrace...))) ) ) )

going from being self-sufficient to barely getting things done is maddening. Temporary (and for that I'm very lucky) but maddening all the same.

Only thing I can think of to help is to ice your arm with the tendinitis. It's the only thing that helps. I know from experience.
