What's all this crap about iPods not playing MP3s? I don't think people get how it works.

iPods play MP3s just fine. People need to make the distinction between being able to play MP3s and having to use iTunes as software. Yes, you have to use iTunes to upload songs to your iPod. But, iTunes plays MP3s. I do not have one aac on my hard drive, but I still have 500+ songs played from iTunes and my iPod.

True, you can't buy MP3s from iTunes, but you don't have to buy songs from apple to use them on your iPod. I don't care if you're pissed about apple not selling you MP3s. but get your facts straight and use the right terminology before you complain. /rant off

I burned all my CDs to MP3s long before I ever downloaded anything from the iTunes store. I'm on my third iPod and they all play(ed) MP3-format files just fine. I don't get it either.
