3. Not a Carolina fan... but a Carolina "respector"...
am a Hoosier fan - from birth. Remember multiple championships as I grew up (three between '76 and '87). Have to respect other long-time big Bball programs. So count me as an admirer. Congrats. (and may Kelvin Sampsom bring IU back into a similar road of glory.

Funny thing - on Friday I a kid I used to work with came to visit work. Ending his soph. year in highschool. Has already committed to Purdue. Why Purdue over IU? (The kid wants to go into business, not engineering and IU is the biz school - purdue the engineering school) - Because the rep of IU was already that it was climbing too fast and that if he wanted attention (as in proscouts) he might do better at Purdue in the coming years than at IU. Thought it was interesting that this was the local AAU and HS coach view of the Hoosier situation in a couple of years :D

So beware Carolina fans - we may respect you - but we hope to beat you in the near future!

From a hoosier fan.

4. I went to a UNC school but
I was always more for State, I think because my mom went there so when I was little we always wanted State to win.
But OUT of the state I'm totally for UNC!
(I don't know what's up with basketball but my hubband watched today and told me what happened)

21. NCSA
I went to the School of the Arts, and yes I believe we are the smallest school in the UNC system.

I was really surprised that Carolina received a #1 seed. I thought that even if they won against State yesterday that they would still be a #2 seed. They have a very tough bracket, with Georgetown and Texas, and as much as I love me some Carolina basketball I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make it to the Final Four.

State played a great game against them and their game plan should be a template for anyone who would like to beat Carolina. State sucessfully slowed down the tempo, took Carolina out of their running game and forced them to play a halfcourt game, something Roy Williams would prefer not to do. I don't think there is a team in America that can run with Carolina, but if you can slow them down, especially now that Tyler is not himself because of his discomfort with wearing his headgear because of his broken nose, you might have a chance if you can shoot over 45% from the field and not get into foul trouble.

I felt bad for State. They played three great games in the tournament. Too bad they didn't click until too late in the year. Three more wins, plus what they did this weekend would have put them in the big dance.

By the way, Carolina means UNC, not that other college in fucking South Carolina.

27. She came to me. Said she knew me.

Said she'd known me a long time
And she talked of being in love
With every mountain she had climbed

And she talked of trails she'd walked up
Far above the timberline
From that night on I knew I'd write songs
For Carolina in the pines.

There's a full moon on the fourteenth
First quarter twenty-first
And a full moon in the last week
Brings a fullness to the earth.

There's no guess work in the clockwork
Of the world's heart or mine
There are nights I only feel right
With Carolina in the pines.

As the frost grows on the windows
The wood stove smokes and glows
As the fire glows we can warm our souls
Makin' rainbows in the coals.

And we talk of trails we walk up
Far above the timberline
There are nights I only feel right
With Carolina in the pines.

Yeah-I'm a big Carolina fan.

17. When I was little ( around 9 years old ) I was a hard core Duke fan.
This was during the Christian Laettener/Grant Hill/Bobby Hurley years - I cut out every news paper article about Duke. I had sweatsuits and even a Duke blanket (my family still has this blanket) - in the fifth grade (as we had to do every year) we were encouraged to write a story and it was bounded like a real book, I wrote my story about Duke winning the Final Four. My teachers always encouraged my very vivid imagination. I know they thought I was nuts but hey I always passed ;)

Middle school, I was still a Duke fan ... I growled at anyone who thought differently.

Cut to high school, somehow it was all about Carolina Tarheels basketball. One day when I was a sophomore, we were after school at a steering committee meeting and we get word that Dean Smith (its a myth here in NC that where ever walks , light blue flowers appear with baby rams floating behind him) (ok I made that up but still - told you I have a very vivid imagination) was in the guidance office , I don't think I ever ran so fast before in my life. I did'nt want to be an ass so I pretended I was there for something else , I should have gotten his autograph or something.
My senior year of high school I LOVED Carolina basketball.

Cut to the time to enroll for college : I went to NC State ...

Gotta love the ACC .

There's nothing blasphemous about saying that the state of South Carolina exists. It provides a convenient buffer from Georgia and Florida. It also has some very scenic mountains and beaches.

Vermont Royster would be very unhappy about your disdain for accuracy.

45. now, now... of course South Carolina EXISTS...
But you simply can't omit the "South" you see, otherwise people will assume you're talking about the best state university in the country, and we just wouldn't want them to make that mistake, now would we?

Hence CAROLINA (GO HEELS!) oh... sorry, where was I? ah yes... CAROLINA refers to the UNIVERSITY of NORTH CAROLINA (the aforementioned best state university in the country) and SOUTH CAROLINA refers to that school down there in Columbia.

I hope you enjoyed our lesson! Have a nice day.

Why do some people hate UNC-Chapel Hill? Because of ignorant arrogant pukes like you. In the second post in this thread you claim that NC State beat UNC twice. The fact is that UNC won by 20 when the teams played in the Dean Dome.

Now you're claiming that I live in South Carolina despite the fact that I've clearly stated where I live in this thread.

Do the school a favor and shut the fuck up.
