Question about Brita water filters.... |

I bought a Brita water pitcher and it's time to replace the filter, but what do I do with the old filter? Can I recycle it?

It's a major downside to an otherwise top-notch product. (If you find anything useful to do with the old ones, I'd love to know.)

I'll call the company next week and bug them about it. They must get this question all the time I imagine.
I do love it though. The water here tastes awful.
