Adagio in Strings by Barber. I"m looking for a decent version and
some moron has turned it into a disco/dance deal with high praise. Then I find Gen, struggling along on his piano and it's so much more beautiful.

1. Sorry dear.
Actually it is "light" house by Tiesto (AAAAAAAAAAUUUGHHHH - my husband the prog house and breaks dj HATES him; he is the Celine Dion of techno); so just make sure you avoid anything with the above name attached (and make sure you specify the word IN instead of FOR and you have a better chance of getting what you are looking for).
Good luck.

9. You might like Bernstein's with the LA Philharmonic
For the record, it's the second movement of Barber's String Quartet #1. Also check the vocal version Agnus Dei - ravishing.

If you're a Barber fan, listen to his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra; the man could do melody.

10. I've got it at home, but can't remember the conductor
There's another techno version by William Orbit, too. I rather like that one. Under the right conditions, it can bring tears to your eyes - which is weird for techno.
