When good cats go bad
http://www.katu.com/news/local/6423377.html

HAILEY, Idaho (AP) - A house cat attacked its owner, sending her to the hospital by ambulance with more than 20 bite wounds.

The cat, a black and white domestic male, went on the rampage Wednesday when a neighbor showed up at the door with a different cat, mistakenly thinking it belonged to the woman.

"She went to the door, and her cat went berserk," Jeff Nevins, assistant fire chief for Wood River Fire and Rescue, told the Idaho Mountain Express.

The woman in her 60s was taken to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center with what Nevins described as "pretty serious puncture wounds." Neither the hospital nor the fire department would provide any details to The Associated Press on Saturday, or say whether she has been released.

1. I believe in neutering for a reason....
The worst thing an unneutered male cat ever did was spray some upholstery and a bad date who deserved it. But I tend to whack off those balls before they get REALLY territorial...

2. A cat attacked my forearm, scratching it with his back claws
while he grasped my hand with his front legs and bit the base of my thumb. I had opened the door and he was standing there (he lived upstairs) staring into my flat, while my cat stood across the room behind me. He started to come in, and I was dumb enough to try to push him backward so I could close the door, so that's what I got!
Te next day my hand was puffy and the joints were painful, I could barely bend my thumb. I called my cousin to find out what to do for a cat bite. She had worked for veterinarians, and told me to make a paste of olive or vegetable oil and crushed epsom salts, apply it and wrap with a piece of cloth and a plastic bag and keep it on it overnight. It draws out the toxins and pus :scared: and worked like a charm.

3. Cats are barely domesticated as is...
Humans who take care of them should bear this in mind. Cats are small, tempermental animals with razor blades on their paws and two needles in their mouth. Some cats can be quite docile in even the most stressful situation, other cats, can be simply dangerous.

Neutering helps, it reduces some of the hormonal crap that's related to mating and marking territory, to be honest, I don't really blame the woman that much, she didn't know the other lady was carrying a cat, but, at the same time, her cat isn't to be blamed either, just a bad situation overall.

4. Could be my mom's cat, he's a biter
Cat scares the shit out of me. Also cat bites are most likely to lead to infection.

My cats never bite, thankfully, they are very well behaved.
