15. It certainly gets you drunk quicker!
This Saturday I did two double shots of Stoli somewhere near the end of the evening and it kicked my ass. I had to be careful not to fall into the water on my way back to the car...sometimes it's not a good idea to put a bar so close to a marina!

I would have only done one shot but my aunt gave up doing shots for Lent...although she considers Jagerbombs not to be shots, they are mixed drinks that you drink really fast! Who gives up shots for lent? lol

You have to drink your vodka slowly or you'll be finished very early in the night. I'd drink beer but I can't stand the taste of it. I've never learned to like it.

But they get a lot done in those 80 years. The only unusual deaths on my dad's side that I'm aware of were accidents or surgically induced.

In fact I'm drinking now. In honor of my FiL's b'day, even though he's a SOB cuss...hey it's a good excuse to break out a bottle wine (or two)...for the next week. Actually my maiden name was "Flora" which is predominate in Sicily and the northern border with Germany. On my mom's side I'm Scotch-Irish. My husband is Cajun. So I celebrate something, pretty much 2-3 times per week!

on edit: Although I love my husband, madly, I regret giving up my maiden name. I told him recently that I'm thinking about legally changing it back. He was okay with it...

49. Mostly German, a wee bit Irish
On the German side, if I go back far enough might actually find some Dutch. In any case, grew up with beer and highballs in the house. Every family get together was an excuse to drink, eat, and not infrequently dance, which was followed by more drinking and eating. Eventually someone would break out the cards for Pinochle or Euchre, accompanied by more drinking and eating. Hey, that's what German/Irish farm families do -- just not so much any more. Sadly, most the generations that made it all happen are gone. Still, these are fond memories, and enough reason to smile every time I have a beer or play a hand of cards.
