3. On the contrary - I think Trudeau made the reporter look foolish.

Making it seem like the reporter wouldn't have wanted to protect Laporte or Cross if he had the chance.

The fact is, the reporter isn't in the position to do anything. Trudeau couldn't defend his action, so he attacked the reporter.
