1. My area's infested with Amish,

or us, depending who you are. Shoo-fly pies are everywhere. I'll eat a piece every now and then. It's pretty good. Especially with coffee.

Moon pies are all over the place too. Every little store has a box with piles of them. I'm sure you're familiar with them too. For those that aren't, it's a round sandwich affair, about as big around as the palm of your hand. A thin piece of rubbery chocolate cake on the top and bottom, and anywhere from one to twenty pounds of a white, lard-like icing in the middle. Way too rich for me. I always scrape most of the icing off.

2. Oh, man - you just activated that earworm

"Shoofly pie and apple pan dowdy make your eyes light up and your tummy say 'Howdy'. They used it in a car commercial a couple of years ago and it drove me nuts! (Think it was Dinah Shore singing.)

Anyway, thanks - I'm going to have my brain bleached. Then maybe I'll try some pie...
