3. My thumbnail review:

1. I liked "Send for Henny". For my teenage sons, it would induce vomiting. I liked the soft sounds and intertwining background.

2. "Obscurity Knocks" is a retro sound that reminded me of some of the more sophisticated efforts of Herman's Hermits back in the '60s. Simple melody lines, little harmonies in the background, rolling lyrics. The guitar solo in the middle was really typical of the early years of rock. In the last half of the song, we segue into some 80s sounds. Thumbs up.

3. "Notting Hill Blues" again isn't exceedingly complex, but it's very easy on the ears. The lead vocals do a nice job of expressing smooth sounds that slide easily into a more pained, soulful sound. I found the backup to be a little saccharin for my taste although the vocal and instrumental lament around 4:00 followed by the bluesy feel to the guitars was dynamite. I envisioned sitting in a bar with a glass of Guinness listening to this. However, that electric piano sound has got to go -- it comes dangerously close to turning the sound into Lounge Lizard crapola.

4. "Jump." Ack. Rock and Roll on Prozac. No thanks.

My favorite all time CD is Aztec Camera's Dreamland. So no, you have great taste!
