I can not for the life of me find a flattering bathing suit. I don't have any enormous figure flaws, this really shouldn't be complicated.

I don't want much: Two pieces. Black, but in a pinch I'd settle for a darker blue or green. Boy shorts and a structured top with some lift. Absolutely no triangle tops, they make me look really, really, really flat chested. It's not too much to ask, is it?

Well, judging by everything I've seen at the store and in catalogs, yes, apparently it is. This year everything is BRIGHT!!!!! and triangle tops are in. Which would be great if I had a boob job and skin that tans, but I don't, so could somebody please sell my skinny casper ass a bathing suit, now that I'm finally slender enough that I don't need to wear my attractive if somewhat dull one piece yet another year?

Any hints on where I could find something like that?

1. you should come on down to elk grove and go to Laguna surf and skate, awesome selection of
separates and plenty of board shorts to go with them and there are really good quality.

3. My dear LeftyMom.......
Have you looked at Lands' End?

I have never bought a bathing suit from them, but it seems to me that they might have something you would like.....

And they are on the web.......

Good luck!

I doubt very much if flvegan is going to care!

6. Oh, I know that.
I'm just overdue for a new one that doesn't look quite so old fashioned and uptight, now that I've slimmed down a bit and can have priorities other than "Do I look horrifically fat in this? No? Good enough."

7. I had good luck at a sporting goods store
my daughter is 13 and the suits stocked by the normal stores are just too "slutty" for my taste. But she liked the more sporty stuff from Speedo.

9. As it turns out, the Google ads at the top of your post
are all for swimwear.

I clicked on this one: http://www.swimoutlet.com/Fashion_Swimwear_s/379.htm

and noticed that they sell their bikinis and tankinis as separates. They have an underwire swimsuit bra in chocolate, and a boyshort in the same colour.

11. Head Down To Wal-Mart
and have some dinner at the Olive Garden :9

then smoke a few while you visit your breast feeding friends on the bench outside of Wal Mart

and while you're in getting your swim suit, pick up some corn flake breading for your fish you will fry in the skillet tomorrow.

Sorry, I have no idea. The modern message of consumerism is never based on reality, but some unattainable image that people put out there for us the consumers to want, and feel badly because we don't fit the "ideal" who in reality doesn't exist either thanks to airbrushing and computer editing and of course boob jobs and anorexia.
