Someone snuck in to the back room at work
and stole three employees purses today.
I don't quite know how they did it, maybe they then dashed out the back door instead of going through the front.
But we have to change the locks at work, and at the houses of those with stolen purses.
What the fuck?

1. That is really horrible.
:(

And everyone has to cancel credit cards, replace those cards and their IDs, notify the credit bureaus in case any tries to steal their identities, etc. What a pain.

If you ever catch the thief, I think everyone will understand if you go for his/her throat. x(

3. Think it might've been an employee, or just some lowlife...
or both? :P

4. Deff not an employee
the only people who weren't stolen from are the owners, because they keep their stuff in their offices.

5. Why were the purses left in an area where they COULD be stolen?
I'm just asking.
I'm not sure how things are set up where you work.

6. They're in the back.
The back isn't locked off. It has to be accessible.

9. Meh, purses are so wasteful anyway.
Why does anyone need all of that stuff? My mom went from a purse, to a tote bag, to this giant bag she carries around all the time.
I honestly don't see the point. Just carry what you need. I use pockets.

10. You have pockets big enough to carry
Edited on Wed Mar-14-07 09:35 PM by GirlinContempt
cash, make up, cell phone, assorted keys (7+), cigarettes, lighter, pens, hairbrush, AND your lunch?
I need to talk to your clothing maker.

WHy are purses 'wasteful'?

11. I have enough room to carry keys, wallet, cell phone, pens...
Leave lunch in the fridge, don't carry a hairbrush, don't smoke, and don't use makeup.
I just consider it needless to carry so much stuff. I mean, if you really need it, alright, but I just like to travel light.
Just a matter of personal preference. I don't like to carry a lot of stuff on me.

12. I guess it is a matter of personal preference
but saying purses are wasteful and seeming to dismiss theft because you don't personally need a purse is pretty lame.

Leave lunch in the fridge at home? Wont do me much good at work. I work with the public, long hair needs brushing during the day. I choose to smoke and to wear makeup, why should I stop because you don't like purses?

13. Didn't say you should.
It's mostly annoyance because of the ridiculously huge thing my mom carries around all the time. There is NO way someone needs to carry around that much stuff. However, I can understand why people need purses or stuff like that...I wear a backpack sometimes when I need to carry stuff around. Prefer not to, though.
It sucks when stuff gets stolen, I'm not dismissing the thefts either. I'm just an asshole that doesn't express thoughts properly.

16. It's the first time anything like this has happened
I will be looking in to doing something, not sure what yet. Lockers might work.

17. I've been at my job for 16 1/2 years and I don't trust anyone.
It's not that I have ever had anything stolen but that I don't want to give anyone the opportunity. I keep all my valuables locked up the whole time I'm there.
