What pre-paid cell phone do you use?
Any service better than others? My other half has a regular cell phone w/T-Mobile but I do not need constant availability of a phone. Was thinking of getting a pre-paid one, any preferences? Are they a reasonable alternative? Any thoughts would be appreciated! I'd like to be able to have one in case of emergency.

1. Virgin.
It's twenty bucks or less every ninety days. The top-up cards are often discounted at Target.

I use my phone infrequently, so this works well for me.

2. Virgin Mobile
I have Virgin Mobile and a minute by minute plan. Because I seldom use the phone, this was the most economical plan for me.

It automatically adds $15.00 every ninety days. I never use that much, but it carries over in case I need it sometime.

I've had it for over a year I like it very well--have never had any problems with coverage in a metro area and in many rural areas. Generally, if I am within five-10 miles of any interstate I have a cell signal.

Added on edit: I get ten cents a minute with no monthly fees. I've used about $125 per year, thus far...
