Nutrasystem...
(did I spell that right?) I am curious about buying expensive meals that you could otherwise make yourself at home. And I want to know how many women here have been called a "trophy wife" and how many guys have been told that they were "disgusting". Not that I have anything against a "hot smokin' body" but these ads drive me nuts. Does this "system" work?

1. My girlfriend got Nutrasystem...
she and her mom both did it. They both had one meal, then boxed the stuff up and shipped it back for a full refund. I believe my gf compared the taste of the food to "rotten, burnt dog food."

2. Sure it works...
In fact it works great. You lose tons of weight, fast..that is, until you go off it.

3. I actually use to work for Jenny Craig and I have doubts about these plans
I was a councilor for Jenny Craig for about 2 years and I loved it. I wasn't there to sell food but to coach & motivate folks to lose weight. Then I got promoted to program councilor, which was to sell the food. I knew my time was coming to an end when a woman who clearly needed help with losing weight couldn't join because she really did not have the money to buy the food. Because if you don't buy the food then 'you're not gonna lose weight'. It took all my powers to hold back the tears and this girl sobbed uncontrollably in my office.

The probably is the food really sucks - worse than the lean cuisine stuff you can buy at the grocery store. And it really doesn't teach you anything about preparing healthy meals daily, which is ultimately what folks need to learn if they're gonna lose weight

5. Ya it probly works,
but its for people who can't figure out how to count caloric and sugar intake for themselves. I have never understood why people think it takes outside help or some kind of "special" program to drop weight. All one needs to do is follow a simple rule: do more stuff, eat fewer calories, especially sugars. If you try that and don't lose weight, do even more stuff, and eat even fewer calories.

Instead it seems most people turn to some ridiculous "weight loss solution" they see on TV.

6. I did it for a month..
I ended up selling my second shipment on ebay lol.. the food is ok if you don't mind freeze dried beef, which really wasn't that bad, or congeeled chicken . The chicken was the stuff I could not take. I opened the package and it smelled like cat food. It was truly nasty, but really that was about all that was unedible. The desserts are pretty good, no real complaints and the pre-made pasta dishes are ok if you don't mind 20% noodles with 80% sauce. Plus you have to buy your own buns, condiments, etc. I did lose 10 lbs on it but it wasn't worth it having to not look forward to a meal.

Still not cheap--but it works if you will follow it. I've lost about 35-40 pounds on it and kept it off for over a year so far.

SBD is not cheap because it is a matter of not buying hamburger at $2 per pound or cheap fat-laden pre processed meats. You are eating lean meats that probably cost more to buy--like fish and chicken. You eat stuff like fresh fruit and veggies--and produce is not cheap either. You can't get by with eating a thing or Raman noodles or a 50 cent pot pie frpm CostCo--you have to actually eat real food.

The plus side is that you learn to eat healthy and you will keep the weight off if you do what you are taught.

Good luck!
