OK, now I have 2 on 'ignore'.
Jeez, what's going on with this place?
Not in here, of course.
In GD and GD-P.

Ever since we've had the 'ignore' option I've never used it.
I thought it was kind of childish.
<fingers in ears> "Nyah, nyah, nyah, I can't HEAR you."

The first one was last week. Just someone who bores the crap out of me.
No big deal. Personal preference. Cuts down on the clutter.

Except now it's personal attacks and name calling.
If we can't agree on something I just chalk it up to 'OK, we disagree' and move on.
I don't do name calling.
(And I also don't tattle and 'alert' unless it's an obvious troll.)

And if someone resorts to that then I guess I'm just not interested in their intrusions into a rational discussion or what 'contribution' they may have to make.
Ever.

It's sad.
<insert appropriate smilie here>

"And WHY should we care, exactly, HOW many trof has on ignore?"
You shouldn't.
Just a teeny vent.

Oh they were tasty -- enrobed in dark chocolate. Now I wish I'd bought a box. Oh well -- ice cream and beer don't mix.

9. I sure can.
The 'boring one' surely doesn't know they bore me.
I've just never gotten anything interesting (at least to me) or enlightening, or funny, or even "Gee Whiz" from them so I figured "Why take up the space on the Lounge page?"

I guess I'm a hedonist?

12. I never leave anybody on ignore, but when really frustrated
I'll make them disappear for a while so I can breathe. If I spent more time in GD maybe I'd be less tolerant.

j/k! I know the feeling - sometimes there are no other choices. Some people just need to be put away.

19. Ignore threads are the definition of boring
I have zero on ignore and zero I've ever considered putting on ignore, here or elsewhere.

I've noticed on other forums, when people brag about putting people on ignore, they use the word bore as as substitute for, "I disagree with this person and always come out second best during the argument so I'll run away." I hope that doesn't happen in a multifaceted site like this.

21. Nope. To me it means just what I said.
Someone who's just DYING for some attention, ANY attention.
"Hey! Looka ME! I'm a TEW!"
Like that commercial.

Sure, we have some of those here, but some of them are funny.
This one ain't.
whatever

27. I use it to try to calm down.
When I'm involved in a "debate" with someone I really disagree with and it starts getting out of hand, I might put the person on "Ignore" so I don't "lose it".

I started after the 2004 election and took them all off after the 2006 election. Now I just don't go to DU that much.

29. 900 !!
That's impressive no matter how I look at it! I guess you should get credit just for sticking around instead of canceling your membership. That must have been very discouraging, to say the least.

I wasn't even sure there were that many active posters here. Active enough to get on ignore lists. I started sometime in '01-'02, later I took about a 3yr break and just started posting again several months ago. It would be interesting to know just how many are active in say, a random 1 or 2 week period.

23. someone put me on ignore the other night in gd, they told me they were doing it
it was a big flame war thread and they made a comment that was a straight up personal attack on a poster and then they claimed it wasn't personal---wrong.

33. Only two?
I've got at least 10 at this point, though the list was much longer, because I'm a very impatient person.

Interesting though that the ones on ignore, when I go back and check in a couple of weeks, they are often no longer with us.

One wonders why that would happen
