Poll question: DU folks - does your school/workplace make you pay for girl stuff?
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 06:25 PM by Book Lover
Forgive me if I crow a bit about my new workplace - tampons and pads are free! Yeah, they're not top-drawer products, but a long sight better than the criminal .25c my previous job charged. What about where you work?

on edit: Made the poll gender-inclusive!
second edit: Even more inclusive!

1. I had a friend in sales who would judge the health of a company by that.
If they were too cheap to provide those amenities, they might not be in the best of financial shape.

Oh, sorry, I'm a DU guy, I'll leave now.

:yoiks:

6. That's good to hear
So often you'll hear about schools doing the dumbest (or at elast very annoying) things just to bring in a little cash.

4. My last company did
All that stuff was free, but I'm picky about that stuff and usually brought my own. But free is handy if you get caught with the occasional red shorts. x( :P

They were a blue chip firm.

5. Agreed.
It's hard to act professional when you have "a little something" on your mind...

8. Two companies I worked for supplied them.
But I've had a shit load of jobs so the percentage is dismal. On my own now.

9. My school charges, but I only use disposables in emergencies anyhow.
My work charges too, but they store the big refill boxes in the break room, so

10. In construction, it's bring your own.
I couldn't imagine what some of these knuckleheads would do if feminine hygine products were just left around. Well actually I could.

11. They would never provide them.

And I've worked in hospitals and jails. Employees could not use the products no matter what, even if it was an emergency and we were willing to pay.

Yes, I've worked for many crappy places.
