(I think Paula's is a little over-done for TV, but it is real, nonetheless. What irks me more are completely fake Southern Accents where you know the actor/presenter is absolutely terrible at it!)

I think she tries too damned hard to come across as the "southern country uneducated lady who raised herself by her bootstraps". Which she is - God bless her for the stuff she overcame - but its too bad she still can't find the authority within herself to be herself, and feels that she needs to have a totally outrageous southern accent for people to take her seriously.

11. I happened to catch Paula Deen hawking Smithfied meats on

one of the shopping networks the other day. I was channel surfing and heard her refer to "the good folks at Smithfield". Called Smithfield IBP "a good ol' Southern company". Right. I'm sure she meant a good ol' corrupt transnational.

As if I didn't hate her already.
