1. Heh, that'd be nice.
I want projection TV inside my eyelids, hooked up to an electronic library, so I can lie in bed with my eyes closed and read :)

11. I sometimes wonder if someone has already figured it out...
and simply not told anyone.

I mean, if someone invented it, and became rich and famous as a result; what would stop someone from going back in time, and inventing it earlier?

27. What would stop someone from inventing a machine that could take people farther back in time?
Once a machine was created to travel back to, say, tomorrow, and the dynamics of the machine were understood; it wouldn't take long to make a few adjustments and hack one's way back to a more distant time.

33. There is the problem of being able to go back and change things.
The slightest change in virtually anything could lead to major changes in everything afterwards.

Still, I want to travel back to 1968 or 1969 and STAY there!!! This new century totally SUCKS and so does getting old(er)!!!!

34. A potato
that shoots an energy beam which transforms flying objects into edible objects.
It works like this:

Airplane - Chips with hummus
Hot air balloon - Bottle of wine
Hang glider - Odwala food bar
Blimp- Hamburger
Helicopter- A walnut

they replace?

44. Everything would be the size of the object it replaced.
So watch out for the giant bottles of wine. Actually, if you knocked down one of those over a desert, you would have a giant wine fountain, to which people would inevitably flock, drink, swim in, have mass halucinations and fall in love with strangers, producing something that vaguely resembled Woodstock.

Except for the walnut. That would just be walnut sized.
